"Nevermind" 15th anniversary
Here's a brief recap of the magazine coverage that followed the 15th anniversary of Nirvana's legendary Nevermind album: The October 2006 issue of the British magazine Uncut has a 'grunge special' that tells the 'untold story' of grunge bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Hole, Lemonheads, Mudhoney, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, Stone Temple Pilots, Afghan Wings and Mother Love Bone. There's also a "timeline of grunge" and a fictional "alternate future" timeline speculating events that would have transpired if Kurt hadn't died in 1994.
In the September 23 issue of NME, you'll find a Nirvana cover story featuring funny facts and trivia behind each song on the Nevermind album, selected musicians telling NME why they love the album, a brand new interview with Courtney Love, previously unpublished photos from the album shoot (and a fresh comment from the baby on the cover, Spencer Elden, who is now 15), as well as new comments from some of the key players - including Chad Channing, Butch Vig and Nirvana's UK publicist at the time.
There's also a "Kurt at 40" fictional account of what the singer's life would be like today. In the following issue of NME, published September 30, they promise a rare interview with Krist Novoselic. More info on that later. Some articles online about the anniversary:
