Bleach sales, Nirvana as a rite of passage
In a recent Q&A for the Guardian, Sub Pop's Jonathan Poneman explains why Nirvana's Bleach may remain the label's greatest seller, despite more recent successful releases by the Shins or Iron & Wine. "I still speak to my friends whose kids are becoming teenagers, and they discover Nirvana as a sort of rite of passage. Some cultures have Bar Mitzvah. We have Nirvana." More here.
