More on the Sub Pop anniversary + Mojo cover story

A couple of pieces from Blurt online, including a story about the 'grunge lexicon' and more Sub Pop coverage. Check it out here. Text-based version of all 3 stories here.

In related news - the August 2008 issue of Mojo has a cover story about the Sub Pop anniversary, with an old b&w concert snap of Kurt Cobain gracing the cover. Inside, there's an article on the rise of Nirvana and their "grunge explosion"!

"NIRVANA AND SUB POP: Two decades on from the grunge explosion that turned an independent Seattle record label into a globally revered name, MOJO's Keith Cameron reunites the sonic pioneers, key players and riotous music for an exclusive journey through Sub Popís unmatched history. PLUS! Mudhoney speak! AND! The 20 best Sub Pop records!"

The magazine comes with a free CD - SUB POP 300! "MOJO celebrates 20 years of America's most iconic label with 15 killer tracks from the likes of Mudhoney, Green River, Tad, The Shins, No Age and many, many more."

Finally, the magazine includes a story (and great picture) from the Foo Fighters performance at Wembley where they were joined by the members of Led Zeppelin for the encore at one of the shows. Check out the online webcast of the shows here.
