Nirvana music used in upcoming Rock Band 2 game

The second installment of the popular Rock Band games by Harmonix will include the Nirvana track Drain You.

The game also features tracks by bands such as Metallica, Megadeth, The Who, Soundgarden, Rage Against The Machine, Alice in Chains, Foo Fighters & a brand new song by Guns N' Roses - among others.

The game allows players to simulate playing music in a rock band on one of four instruments: lead guitar, bass guitar, drums, and vocals, by themselves or with other players locally or online. Rock Band players use peripherals modeled after musical instruments to simulate the performance of rock music. Players must play these instruments in time with musical "notes" as they scroll towards them on the screen. Rock Band offers single-player and multiplayer gameplay for lead guitar, bass guitar, drums, and vocals, allowing for any combination of parts to play as a band.

The game will be released in September 2008 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and Wii game consoles.

Nirvana music was also used in the first Rock Band game. Check out our new section for more info on that, and other use of Nirvana's music in video games, movies, tv shows and more.
